Rafi Devers Continues His Rise With the Giants

Rafael "Rafi " Devers is considered an exceptional baseball player by the sports community. Rafi is known for his team leadership and batting performance.

Rafi was born on October 24, 1996, in the Dominican Republic, a country known for having many great baseball players. Growing up, he showed impressive batting skills for his age, as he was hitting harder and farther than many older players.

Rafi started playing in the minor leagues. In 2013, he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent. He played strategically and with power. Constantly praised by his coaches, in 2017, at just the age of 20, Rafi made his way to the major leagues. Rafi made his debut on July 25, 2017. He led the Red Sox to reach the playoffs with his energy, confidence, and skill. This helped him become a key player. The Red Sox fans were excited. They predicted he’d become a star as he continued to grow. Eventually, Rafi had a breakout season: he hit 32 home runs, 115 runs batted in, 201 hits, hitting 0.311 in the season.

He played a huge game in 2021 that led the Red Sox to win the American League Championship Series. One of the reasons fans loved Rafi was because of his fearless attitude, positive energy, and leadership. Rafi was traded to the Giants on June 15. He bats left-handed, plays third, and has made errors often at third; that's why the Giants want him to play first base.
