The Industrial Revolution was a very important event in history. It changed the way things were produced, and it accelerated the production process. It had both positive and negative effects and altered the way we live today. If not for the Industrial Revolution, many of the little things we do every day would not be easy or even possible.
The Industrial Revolution changed how things were created and often made them easier to produce. Before the Revolution, workers had to produce goods by hand which took a long time compared to making products with machines. The creation of new machines increased the speed of industrial production. The Revolution also affected other types of production. In the farming industry, farmers invented machines that made planting and harvesting much faster and easier than before.
While the Industrial Revolution made production easier, working in factories came with problems for the employees. The cities inhabited by workers were often too crowded and dirty, and the work they performed was sometimes dangerous. The factory employees were often not paid well by the rich owners, the worker’s low wages were an attempt by the owners to gain more money. Workers were able to advocate for better conditions through organizations called labor unions. Labor unions lobbied for laws that limited workers’ hours and raised their wages.
The Industrial Revolution occurred because business owners wanted to increase profits and invented machines to create products faster. People found that creating more machines made their lives easier in various ways. A pivotal point in the revolution was when the steam engine was invented by James Watt, it ran factory machines and made big factories possible. Arising out of a need to transport goods to other places, steamboats and trains were created. The creation of all these inventions led to the construction of large factories.
The Industrial Revolution still has a big effect on how we live today. The tiniest little thing we do might be impossible if it was not for the machines this era of innovation created. The technology we use would not be anywhere close to possible if it weren’t for the Industrial Revolution. This monumental event changed billions of lives, and it still makes life much easier today.
