Tsunamis are very dangerous and are often scary, but you can survive them.

Tsunamis are much faster than humans, and they are so destructive that they can destroy a whole village or even an island.

Tsunamis are most common where there is a lot of volcanic and earthquake activity. This area is known as the ring of fire.

A tsunami is so fast that it can reach speeds of up to 970 kmh when it is in the ocean.

You are notified when a tsunami is coming by the Pacific Tsunami System, which was established by scientists. The system is important because tsunamis can hit in less than a day after being notified, so people need to move fast to avoid them.
