Tiger Woods: A Golf Champion

by Marshawn Turner, age 9

Tiger Woods is a phenomenal golfer. In fact, many would say that’s what he was born to do.
Eldrick “Tiger” Woods was born December 30, 1975 in California. He got the nickname, Tiger, from a soldier his dad served with in the Vietnam War. Tiger started golfing when he was just one year old.
Tiger Woods was a good golfer at a young age. When he was two years old he beat Bob Hope, a comedian and golfer, in a putting competition on the Mike Douglas Television Show.
He had a lot of victories. He won the Masters in 1997, 2001 and 2002, and has won many other major competitions since then. To this day, Tiger Woods inspires many kids to work hard to reach their dreams.
