La Follette Grad Awarded Summit Faust Scholarship

2014 La Follette graduate Khaleah Monger received the Summit Faust
Scholarship at the Boys & Girls Club Hearts for Helping event
earlier this spring. This $5,000 continuing-education award is given
annually to eligible high school seniors. Awardees must also be
members of the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County and of either
STAR Credit Union or its sponsor company, Summit Credit Union.
STAR Credit Union, the only youth-chartered credit union in the
world, strives to ingrain financial literacy among members of the
Boys & Girls Club of Dane County. Together with STAR, the Summit
Credit Union awards more than $20,000 to Wisconsin students each
year, including the Faust Scholarship.
Monger, president of La Follette’s class of 2014 and this year’s
awardee, also belongs to the National Honor Society. She is an active
participant in several student organizations, at her church, and in
her community.
“Khaleah’s achievements make her a wonderful representative of
the Boys & Girls Club and an example of the spirit behind the
Summit Faust Scholarship award,” said Kim Sponem, STAR Credit Union
founder and Summit Credit Union president and CEO.
Monger plans to pursue a degree in nursing come fall at Tuskegee
University.
